Scheduler Imaging
About the Role
The Imaging Scheduler is responsible for coordinating outpatient imaging procedures, including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-ray, and other diagnostic radiology services.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling appointments
- Verifying orders
- Obtaining prior authorizations
- Providing patients with preparation instructions
- Assisting physicians and staff as needed
- Ensuring effective communication between departments
- Maintaining a safe and organized office environment
- Supporting the orientation and training of new staff
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required
- Experience: 1 year of previous secretarial/receptionist/customer service role required
Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
- Proficient computer skills
- Must be able to operate communication system appropriately (telephones, fax machine)
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to communicate and articulate effectively in English with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
- Ability to use effective interpersonal and teamwork skills when working with a variety of people and situations
- Ability to utilize effective time management skills, organize workload, accomplish goals and objectives, and meet deadlines
- Ability to establish priorities, delegate when required, and follow up in problem solving
- Ability to adapt to an often stressful and rapidly changing environment
- Attention to detail
- Ability to problem solve and negotiate for positive results with staff and physicians
- Basic keyboard skills or ability to use a personal computer
