Responsibilities

  • Generate, review, and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules
  • Confer with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates
  • Pricing and estimating costs for proposal efforts, earned value inputs for all assigned programs
  • Compile reports on progress of work, forecast and maintain required inventory levels, costs, and devise solutions to production problems
  • Devise solutions for variances to the production schedule and present to management
  • Cooklead other lower classified planners during production and material close out phases of projects
  • Assist Planning Supervisor in training and coaching lower classified planners on best practices
  • Develop and maintain Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for programs using Microsoft Project
  • Support Programs and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) by providing cost and schedule integration data to Finance
  • Perform follow-up, check status of, and expedite, where necessary, any information needed to complete tasks assigned
  • Monitor processes, materials, or surroundings to detect or assess problems
  • Prepare variance reports and analyze results to recommend recovery plans
  • Develop control feedback procedures to measure actual performance versus planned performance
  • Interface with Program Managers as well as Control Account Managers, Functional Managers, Financial Analysts and Engineers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent amount of education and experience
  • Two to five years of project planning and integrated scheduling (IMS) experience with Microsoft Project 2003 (Professional preferred)
  • Understanding of a product development process in a business or engineering environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Analytical and organizational skills required
  • Able to be diplomatically persuasive or assertive when necessary

Skills

  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems or Cost and Schedule Integration systems
  • Experience with financial management
  • Experience with other financial tools such as PS8 and Costpoint
