Responsibilities
- Generate, review, and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules
- Confer with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates
- Pricing and estimating costs for proposal efforts, earned value inputs for all assigned programs
- Compile reports on progress of work, forecast and maintain required inventory levels, costs, and devise solutions to production problems
- Devise solutions for variances to the production schedule and present to management
- Cooklead other lower classified planners during production and material close out phases of projects
- Assist Planning Supervisor in training and coaching lower classified planners on best practices
- Develop and maintain Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for programs using Microsoft Project
- Support Programs and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) by providing cost and schedule integration data to Finance
- Perform follow-up, check status of, and expedite, where necessary, any information needed to complete tasks assigned
- Monitor processes, materials, or surroundings to detect or assess problems
- Prepare variance reports and analyze results to recommend recovery plans
- Develop control feedback procedures to measure actual performance versus planned performance
- Interface with Program Managers as well as Control Account Managers, Functional Managers, Financial Analysts and Engineers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent amount of education and experience
- Two to five years of project planning and integrated scheduling (IMS) experience with Microsoft Project 2003 (Professional preferred)
- Understanding of a product development process in a business or engineering environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Analytical and organizational skills required
- Able to be diplomatically persuasive or assertive when necessary
Skills
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems or Cost and Schedule Integration systems
- Experience with financial management
- Experience with other financial tools such as PS8 and Costpoint
