Scheduler II Gastroenterology-Novato
About the role
Maintains scheduling for specialized procedures for an assigned department. Coordinates services with physicians' offices and other related departments, verifying room and equipment availability if necessary. Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, their families/support groups, and other healthcare providers through competent job performance and effective communication. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific tasks and/or orienting other staff to the department.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- 1 year of recent relevant experience
Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of medical terminology, including a variety of diagnostic tests, surgeries, consultations, and procedures
- Ability to interpret data and instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, patients, and other hospital personnel
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including prioritizing assignments and meeting deadlines
- General knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting solutions from established options
- Ensures the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI)
- Builds collaborative relationships with peers and staff to achieve departmental and corporate objectives
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Shift: Days, 8 hours per day
- Days of the week: Monday - Friday
- Weekend requirements: None
Pay
Pay range is $30.40 to $42.55 per hour. The compensation range may vary based on geographic location, candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
