SCHEDULER-CALL CENTER
About the Role
This position requires knowledge of medical insurance terminology, computer skills for scheduling, and familiarity with general office procedures and equipment. Responsibilities include arranging appointments, providing exceptional customer service, verifying insurance eligibility, and ensuring insurance requirements are met prior to service delivery.
You will explain financial requirements to patients or responsible parties, including the authorization process and deductibles. The role involves accurately processing requests and documenting information in a time-sensitive environment.
You must handle public interactions with professionalism and compassion, particularly in stressful situations, and manage irate callers or patients by identifying concerns and directing them appropriately. Strong phone communication skills are essential for addressing inquiries from patients, physicians, clients, or staff.
Responsibilities
- Arrange appointments for care and provide exceptional customer service.
- Verify insurance eligibility and ensure compliance with insurance requirements prior to service delivery.
- Explain financial requirements, including authorization processes and deductibles, to patients or responsible parties.
- Accurately process requests and document information in a time-sensitive environment.
- Handle public interactions with professionalism and compassion, particularly in stressful situations.
- Prevent, calm, or defuse conflicts with irate callers or patients by identifying concerns and directing them appropriately.
- Answer phone inquiries from patients, physicians, clients, or staff.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of medical/radiology terminology.
- Minimum of 3 years of medical office, authorization, or insurance experience (preferred).
- Positive, upbeat disposition with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Strong organizational skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
