Scheduler-BMC Pt Access
Overview
The Scheduler is responsible for accurately screening and completing callers' inquiries by telephone and through the various work queues. They also document inquiries from patients and providers for screening, scheduling, and directing patients to appropriate providers, services, or levels of care. Schedulers educate patients and providers regarding various patient care issues and obtain, update, and verify patient demographics, insurance, emergency contacts, co-pays, and primary physicians.
Responsibilities
- Absolutely answers, schedules, and pre-registers documentation along with following up on all inquiries from patients and providers generated by telephone, internet-based, or written/electronic correspondence.
- Educates patients and providers regarding a variety of patient care issues, including insurance, provider, department/location, payment options, and availability of Carle services.
- Obtains, updates, and verifies patient demographics, insurance, emergency contacts, co-pays, Primary Physicians including all applicable fields within the HIS system.
- Answers telephone, transcribes, and delivers messages to physicians, nurses, and others.
- Reports medical information obtained from patients and referring physicians accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
- Distributes all messages according to practice communication standards.
Qualifications

The compensation range for this position is $17.67 per hour - $28.63 per hour. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
