About the role

The Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and managing patient appointments to support efficient operations and a positive patient experience. You will work closely with patients, physicians, and staff to schedule appointments, maintain accurate patient information, communicate scheduling details, and help ensure patients receive timely and coordinated care.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling appointments based on physician orders and patient needs
• Managing scheduling work queues and In Basket messages within EPIC
• Verifying insurance and pre-authorizations have been obtained
• Communicating appointment details with patients and addressing scheduling inquiries
• Maintaining accurate patient information and documentation within the medical records
• Providing courteous, professional customer service while ensuring a positive patient experience

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Clerical experience in healthcare and knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with office equipment such as copier and fax machines
• Willingness to learn

Pay

The anticipated hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
