About the role
Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, seeks experienced Schedulers with transportation construction management experience for roles throughout Southern California.
Responsibilities
- Create, monitor, and report on the project schedule, ensuring the effectiveness of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Track, analyze, and report on project schedule information, including current status and forecasted changes to the schedule baseline.
- Ensure accuracy of project schedules and provide input on baseline management.
- Cook up, coordinate, and distribute project data and reports effectively.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Functional Team Members to develop and update project baseline schedules per the Client's approved Work Breakdown Structure.
- Support Project Team and Project Control support staff to verify compliance with approved milestone dates of the baseline schedule.
- Aid in planning and scheduling through various phases of project development (initiation, planning, design, right of way, construction, and close-out).
- Retrieve, consolidate, and analyze information from various sources.
- Apply schedule scope changes in alignment with contract requirements.
- Identify schedule delays, impacts, and variances to the baseline and communicate plans and schedules to the Project Manager and Project Team.
- Report on schedule progress in program meetings, forecast reports, and status reports.
- Analyze cost and resource loading in the baseline and monthly schedule updates and run regular cash flow reports.
- Prepare what-if scenario schedules and inform management of possible outcomes.
- Review/analyze time impacts and provide time impact resolution.
Requirements

- Cook up with various agencies and departments.
- Possess knowledge of civil components such as earthwork, grading, drainage, AC and PCC pavement, traffic control, SWPPP measures, signing and striping, and utility coordination.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of Caltrans construction practices preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining focus and control under pressure.
- Professional approach to developing strong client relations.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, including scheduling, budgeting, resource management, and project management software.
- Ability to read and understand project workplans, specifications, contracts, and proposal documents.
- Exceptional analytical and planning skills.
- Knowledge of the elements of a WBS and how it is referenced in developing a project workplan.
- Proficiency in the use of Primavera P6 Scheduling Software.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- California Professional Engineer's license preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience desired; contractor experience is a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience serving as a Resident Engineer, Inspector or Office Engineer.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Proactive and personable with a strong ability to learn quickly.

Pay
The expected salary range for the position is $150,000 - $220,000. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
