About the role
The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is seeking Project Schedulers and Senior Regional Construction Schedulers to join their Facilities Services Division. These roles involve developing and overseeing complex construction schedules, performing CPM and TIA analyses, and partnering with various stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate project execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee complex, resource-loaded Baseline Construction Schedules using Oracle Primavera P6.
- Perform rigorous CPM analysis and Time Impact Analysis (TIA) to identify risks before they become delays.
- Partner with Architects, Engineers, and Site Staff to independently interpret detailed construction drawings and ensure work scopes are perfectly aligned with timelines.
- Review contractor monthly updates, provide forensic schedule assessments, and deliver high-level reports to leadership to ensure key performance milestones are met.
- (For Senior Roles): Assist in the supervision of project schedulers, setting the standard for scheduling excellence across the entire region.
Requirements
- Expert-level proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost-loading.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management (or 14+ years of industry experience with degrees in other fields).
- An analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving, a "forensic" eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, public-agency environment.
Qualifications
- At least 3+ years of experience (Associate/Project level) or 10-14+ years of industry experience (Senior level).
Skills
- Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project proficiency.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost-loading.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
