About the role
GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Scheduler to manage patient appointments for office visits and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist with high call volume and maintain physicians' schedules for office visits and procedures (via phone or face-to-face).
- Take triage call messages for medical staff and review patient visit notes to identify problems, diagnoses, and physician orders.
- Assist in patient registration, check-in, and check-out processes.
- Handle financial transactions, including collecting patient and insurance payments, and reconcile charges daily.
- File records and prepare patient charts in the EMR, including scanning documents into charts.
- Schedule radiology/lab appointments and manage recall scheduling as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Experience working in a medical office.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a basic understanding of healthcare plans and medical benefits.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of prior medical scheduling experience preferred.
- For Level I Status: Entry-level (1-4 years experience) with need for additional supervision, or excess of 4 years experience if meeting only basic requirements with need for supervision.
- Proficient technical (computer) skills.
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and prioritization abilities.
- Strong sense of ethics.
