Schedule and Charge Entry Clerk, Endoscopy

About the role

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduling and charge capture for surgery, endoscopy, recovery room, and anesthesia procedures.
• Schedule patient cases and verify patient charges in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of medical terminology and hospital surgical/endoscopy procedures.
• Exercise initiative and responsible judgment in recognizing and reporting significant situations within the scope of the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Medical Terminology Certificate required, or ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures.
• Knowledge of computer software required, including Outlook, Word, SmartSheets, and the current EMR in use.
• Hospital or clinical office electronic scheduling experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic charge capture and vendor relationships preferred.
• Experience with EMR In‑basket messaging, block scheduling, and billing (including shell codes and applications) preferred.
• No licensure or credentials required.

Pay

• Pay range: $24.28 – $33.55 per hour.
• Shift differentials/premiums:
  • Evening: $3.00/hour
  • Night: $5.00/hour
  • Weekend: $4.50/hour
  • Standby: $3.50/hour
  • Lead: $3.25/hour
  • Per Diem: 15% (on base, in lieu of benefits)
