Description
As our Supervisor you will be responsible for management of a unit consisting of Program Specialists. The purpose of the unit is to administer public assistance programs that can include Family Medicaid, Food Stamps, Adult Financial and Adult Medicaid programs.
Duties
- Performs all supervisory functions (planning, coaching, leading, coaching, monitoring, evaluating) to ensure the highest performance of employees supervised and programs managed.
- Supervises employee performance to ensure accurate and timely processing of applications.
- Completes monthly case file reviews to identify training needs and to establish error rates for performance evaluations.
- Evaluates performance and recommends pay for performance increases.
- Counsels and coaches staff in effective methods of dealing with difficult cases.
- Responds to customer complaints and resolves issues.
- Makes hiring recommendations.
- Conducts interviews to fill staff vacancies.
- Provides disciplinary actions for staff in accordance with county policies and makes recommendations for termination when appropriate.
- Interprets rules and regulations for staff and provides clarification of rule changes.
- Makes recommendations for termination when appropriate.
- Represents ACDHS and CSS at local, state, and federal meetings as assigned.
Requirements
- EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree
- EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years total experience: three (3) years in determining eligibility in public assistance programs and one (1) year in a leadwork or supervisory capacity over professional staff (reviewing work, assigning work, managing subordinate performance.)
- Additional experience of determining eligibility and/or supervision may substitute year for year for the bachelor’s degree.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
