Automotive Equipment Operator I (23223)
Description/Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform physical labor, bending, squatting, and lift fifty (50) to eighty (80) pounds or more.
- Requires average physical agility.
- Janitorial services, washing of walkways, cleaning of restrooms, trash removal.
- Dry wall repair, painting, general building maintenance repairs along with use of equipment.
- Participate in crowd and traffic control.
- Set-up for park events and assist with clean-up after events.
Significant Environmental Conditions: Exposure to extreme weather conditions. Exposure to cleaning supply fumes, paint fumes, pesticides, and other related chemicals.
Hours vary 32 - 40 hrs per week, and may include Saturday and/or Sunday hours.
Education and Experience
- Graduation from high school or G.E.D equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in building maintenance, equipment maintenance, building construction field, or the completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a building.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
Additional Information: Part-time, temporary, and seasonal (PTS) workers are at-will. Generally, PTS employees are limited to no more than 1,000 hours of work per fiscal year and participate in ICMA-RC (deferred compensation as a replacement for Social Security). All offers of PTS employment with the City of Santa Clarita are made contingent upon receipt of proof of legal right to work in the United States and successful completion of a post-offer pre-employment physical, which includes a drug screen. In addition, all PTS employees will be required to participate in the DMV Employer Pull-Notice Program. This Program authorizes the City to receive a driver record report upon enrollment and during employment.
