About the Role
The operator is responsible for setting up and changing equipment based upon product need, while adhering to all food safety and food quality guidelines.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
- Observes all safety rules and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Follows all established Good Manufacturing Practices, including maintaining an orderly and clean work area.
- Sets up, changes over, adjusts, repairs, and operates all machinery and equipment.
- Ensures all equipment is in operating condition and ready for on-time startup.
- Makes necessary adjustments to keep products flowing consistently.
- Performs process control and quality checks.
- Operates date coders and verifies code dates on cases.
- Cleans all equipment using current sanitation practices.
- Assists Quality Assurance in obtaining samples of products and performs other miscellaneous duties.
- Responsible for basic troubleshooting of all processing equipment.
- Completes daily production reports/documents accurately, timely, and legibly.
- Trains new associates.
- Performs any other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One year of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to take direction and follow instructions.
- Positive and respectful attitude; cooperates with co-workers, management, and internal/external customers.
- Medium to high degree of judgment required.
- Good attendance and punctuality.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Good physical health and ability to manage work in a high-energy environment.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
Pay
Annual Range/Hourly Rate: $20.01
