SATCOM IP Network Support Specialist

About the role

This position supports the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)‑provided Global Information Grid (GIG) capabilities and services in the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC). It is located at Hill AFB, UT within Leidos’ Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services (ESGS) Operations Support Cell. The role requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update tickets using DISA ticketing applications to track and resolve customer network problems across Baseband, IF, and RF communications.
  • Monitor network events and element management failures in real‑time on a 24x7x365 basis.
  • Perform IP network support, including configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, and voice equipment.
  • Perform IP satellite modem support, including configuration and issuance of option/boot/RSP files.
  • Remotely access and de‑access customers into the IP/SATCOM networks.
  • Work with DoD SATCOM Gateway facilities and deployed operators to troubleshoot and resolve SATCOM and IP network issues.
  • Verify equipment is operating in the baseline configuration.
  • Remotely provide global equipment configurations at DoD SATCOM Gateways using Satellite Access Authorization (SAA) and Gateway Access Authorization (GAA).

Requirements

  • DoD‑8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) at start date.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operations environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 2‑4 years of relevant experience.

Skills

  • Moderate experience using SAA/GAAs as source documentation for network configuration.
  • Moderate understanding and experience with the operation and configuration of MILSATCOM encryption devices.
  • Moderate understanding and experience with SATCOM architecture and signal flow.
  • Ability to manage IP over SATCOM networks using iDirect/Linkway/EBEM or equivalent FM‑TDMA hubs.

Pay

$48,100.00 - $86,950.00

Schedule
