SAP ABAP TECHNICAL ANALYST

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Technical Analyst to join our team onsite in Jackson, MI, for a 1-year engagement. In this role, you will leverage your 8–10 years of SAP ABAP development experience to drive implementation, enhancement, and support projects, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM). You will work closely with business and functional teams across SAP PM, QM, and PS, performing technical design, development, testing, debugging, code reviews, and production support.

Technical Skills

• Core ABAP: Strong expertise in ABAP Objects and modern ABAP development techniques.
• SAP HANA & S/4HANA: Extensive hands-on experience with Core Data Services (CDS Views – analytical and consumption views), ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP), and SAP HANA optimized development with code pushdown techniques.
• UI & Services: SAP Fiori Elements development; OData Services (Gateway / RAP exposure preferred).
• Enhancements & Reports: Strong knowledge of ABAP Workbench enhancements, User Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Framework; Classical, ALV, and OO ALV reports.
• Interfaces: BAPI, RFC, ALE/IDoc, Web Services, and ABAP Proxy.
• Forms & Output: Adobe Forms, Smart Forms, and Output Management.
• Workflow: Working knowledge of Workflow, BRF+, and Flexible Workflow.
• Data & Performance: Data migration and conversion programs; performance optimization, SQL tuning, and HANA database concepts.
• Development Practices: Transport management, code quality tools, and SAP development best practices.
• Preferred: Knowledge of RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model).

SAP EAM Domain Knowledge (Mandatory)

• Strong functional understanding of SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
• Hands-on experience supporting and developing solutions in SAP PM, QM, and PS.
• Experience with EAM business processes including:
  • Maintenance Notifications
  • Maintenance Orders
  • Preventive Maintenance
  • Work Clearance Management
  • Equipment and Functional Locations
  • Asset Lifecycle Management
  • Inspection Processes and Quality Notifications
  • Project Planning, Budgeting, and Execution
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA EAM implementations or support engagements.
• Exposure to SAP Asset Manager and mobile maintenance solutions.
• Understanding integration points between EAM, MM, FI, QM, and HCM.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery methodology and DevOps practices.

Functional Knowledge (Good to Have)

• Strong domain expertise in SAP PM, QM, and PS.
• Understanding integration with MM, FI, and Asset Accounting.
• Ability to work with business stakeholders to design end-to-end EAM solutions.
• Experience in preparing technical specifications, conducting impact analysis, and supporting UAT and production deployments.
