SAP ABAP TECHNICAL ANALYST

About the role

Position: SAP ABAP Technical Analyst. Location: Jackson, MI (Onsite). Duration: 1 year. Client: HCL. Immediate interview available.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical design, development, testing, debugging, code reviews, and production support.
• Work closely with business and functional teams in SAP PM, QM, and PS.
• Conduct requirement analysis, technical solution design, estimation, development standards, and peer reviews.
• Experience in offshore‑onsite delivery models.
• Provide excellent communication and customer‑facing support.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of SAP ABAP development experience in implementation, enhancement, and support projects.
• Strong hands‑on experience in SAP S/4HANA ABAP development with a focus on SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
• Proven experience working with SAP PM (Plant Maintenance), QM (Quality Management), and PS (Project Systems).
• SAP EAM domain knowledge (mandatory): functional understanding of EAM, hands‑on experience supporting and developing solutions in PM, QM, PS; familiarity with maintenance notifications, orders, preventive maintenance, work clearance, equipment & functional locations, asset lifecycle, inspection processes, quality notifications, project planning, budgeting, execution.

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in ABAP Objects and modern ABAP development techniques.
• Core Data Services (CDS Views) – analytical and consumption views.
• ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP).
• SAP Fiori Elements development.
• OData Services (Gateway / RAP exposure preferred).
• SAP HANA optimized development and code pushdown techniques.
• ABAP Workbench: enhancements, user exits, BADIs, Enhancement Framework.
• Reports (Classical, ALV, OO ALV).
• Interfaces using BAPI, RFC, ALE/IDoc, Web Services, ABAP Proxy.
• Data migration and data conversion programs.
• Experience with Adobe Forms, Smart Forms, and Output Management.
• Working knowledge of Workflow, BRF+, Flexible Workflow.
• Knowledge of RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) – highly preferred.
• Performance optimization, SQL tuning, HANA database concepts.
• Transport management, code quality tools, SAP development best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA EAM implementations or support engagements.
• Exposure to SAP Asset Manager and mobile maintenance solutions.
• Understanding integration points between EAM, MM, FI, QM, HCM.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery methodology and DevOps practices.

Functional Knowledge (Good to have)

• Strong domain expertise in SAP PM, QM, and PS.
• Understanding integration with MM, FI, and Asset Accounting.
• Ability to work with business stakeholders to design end‑to‑end EAM solutions.
• Experience preparing technical specifications, conducting impact analysis, supporting UAT and production deployments.
