About the Role

This position is responsible for plant sanitation during an assigned shift. The role requires demonstrating competency in all on-the-job activities that may directly or indirectly affect product safety, legality, and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with supervisors and maintenance personnel to determine sanitation requirements of bakery equipment and machinery.
  • Prepares work schedules, assigns sanitation personnel to tasks, and inspects/supervises work in progress and upon completion.
  • Monitors chemicals to prevent misuse.
  • Supervises and participates in fogging and spraying the plant with insecticides.
  • Inspects the plant frequently for traces of vermin and ensures cleanliness standards are met.
  • Promotes and maintains good employee relations and ensures compliance with work rules.
  • Promotes established safety programs and safe operating procedures, monitoring employee compliance.
  • Completes daily and weekly administrative paperwork.
  • Advises superintendent of daily and weekly department activities.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (e.g., EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes-Oxley, Safety).
  • Assists with employee training.
  • Makes recommendations on disciplinary action and participates in the disciplinary process as necessary.
  • Performs other duties deemed integral by management, including adherence to work schedules, attendance policies, and applicable operating rules.

Requirements

  • High school education or GED equivalency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a wholesale bakery sanitation department or a minimum of three years’ experience in a wholesale bakery manufacturing department.

Pay

$65,000 annually.
