Responsibilities
- Schedule, assign and monitor work, and provide clear direction to the sanitation team to meet the needs of the business.
- Ensure effective selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action, and performance management.
- Train and instruct employees regarding sanitation standards, good manufacturing practices (GMPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and objectives.
- Oversee instruction, implementation, and enforcement of policies as they relate to employees.
- Implement and maintain sanitation programs and ensure compliance with company standards and directives.
- Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate activities to identify, solve, and prevent problems affecting sanitation.
- Conduct audits of sanitation and clean-in-place (CIP) processes to ensure compliance with SSOP’s.
- Recommend measures to continuously improve sanitation methods, equipment performance, and quality of products produced and distributed by the facility.
- Validate SSOP’s annually or when systems are modified.
- Manage relationships with outside vendors (e.g., chemical supplier).
- Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with DFA operations, QA&C and chemical supply vendors, develop, implement, and continuously improve on sanitation programs, policies, and key performance indicators (KPI’s).
- Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
- Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in food science or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
- 2 to 5 years sanitation or related experience coupled with demonstrated leadership attributes or team leadership experience; supervisor experience preferred.
- Ability to understand technical documents, dilutions, percentages, and basic mathematical formulas for chemical concentrations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with facilities, regulatory agencies, and customers.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Qualifications
