About the Role

A Sanitation Lead monitors and reviews the activities of a team of sanitation operatives to ensure that all sanitation processes are completed in full and that sanitation standards for a given area are maintained during the production shift.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the team has the right number of resources with the appropriate skills, deploy a training plan, and adopt appropriate people practices to deliver the master cleaning schedule.
  • Create and present clear forward resourcing plans (people and materials) for cleaning, sanitation, environment, and technical needs; adjust based on emerging circumstances to minimize food risk.
  • Direct and monitor the team’s delivery of day-to-day sanitation activities in line with the master schedule to ensure operational integrity.
  • Communicate and validate the team’s adoption of amendments to SOPs to ensure effective implementation and improvements to functional sanitation performance and safety practices.
  • Review equipment, highlight damage, and escalate risks to inform the preventative maintenance program.
  • Ensure personal and team compliance with inventory controls to facilitate timely replacement of materials.
  • Provide appropriate information to customers/regulatory bodies in accordance with agreed procedures to demonstrate process and compliance.
  • Identify sanitation requirements by monitoring changes in the production environment, developing and refining SOPs and the master cleaning schedule to ensure safe food delivery in compliance with regulatory, customer codes, and best practices.
  • Coordinate sanitation aspects of external audits.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for employees, meeting or exceeding standards set in the SHE policy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of applicable experience.
  • Results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working both independently and as a team player.
  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Recognized leadership ability to drive excellence.
  • Technical skills appropriate for a large-scale manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, and other programs.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment or similar industry.
  • Experience leading and working in a diverse workforce.
  • Legally authorized to work in the location to which you apply (sponsorship for work authorization is not available).

Pay

Starting pay for Sanitation Lead I is $23.40/hour, with a shift differential offered for 3rd shift opportunities. Individual base pay depends on work location, experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance.
