Sander, Buff & Polish

About the role

We are seeking a Sander for Buff and Polish to join our team at Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. This role involves demonstrating all aspects of sanding, processing, and fitting of raw wood parts, performing hand and/or machine operations to buff and polish guitar bodies or necks to a finished appearance. The position also requires executing repairs, inspecting parts prior to final acceptance, and managing the final process.

Responsibilities

• Sand parts to specific detailed requirements.
• Follow instructions as directed by the Supervisor.
• Ensure production conforms to quality and schedule requirements.
• Inspect input/output quality requirements on all units processed.
• Follow approved procedures to complete all assigned tasks.
• Maintain a clean, repaired, and organized work area.
• Handle and store all regulated materials in compliance with company policy, state, and federal regulations, and in accordance with material safety data sheets.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safety.
• Good hand dexterity.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
• Basic knowledge of the correct use of hand power tools.
• Ability to adhere to safety procedures, rules, and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses) on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Guitar or musical background preferred but not required.

Pay

The pay scale for this position is $17.00 to $18.00 per hour.
