About the Role
At Chart, we design and build some of the world’s most advanced cryogenic equipment. Our customers bring us challenges, and from concept to commissioning, you’ll help create solutions supporting industries like aerospace, clean energy, food and beverage, and more. This role involves general manual labor in a manufacturing setting, working with fiberglass, power tools, and handling equipment to move and prepare products for assembly.
Responsibilities
- Performs general manual labor tasks, including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving product.
- Works with leads, coordinators, painters, and the warehouse department.
- Reports equipment malfunctions and other issues affecting the department.
- Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move products between workstations (e.g., sand and patch to assembly).
- Complies with all Chart policies and procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and organization.
- Ensures all products have proper identification.
- Uses power tools and Bondo filler for touch-ups as needed.
- Balances blade products per engineering specifications.
- Works with pneumatic tools, including angle grinders and orbital sanders.
- Keeps up with production demand to maintain minimum stock levels.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Work Environment
- Indoor manufacturing setting, including inside dust booth environments.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and sitting.
- Able to stand for long periods (up to 12-hour shifts based on schedule demand).
- Required PPE: safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, ear plugs, cut-impact resistant gloves, full-body Tyvek suit, and Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PARP) hood mask.
- Overtime may be required based on schedule backlog demand.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 months of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, construction, or similar environment.
- Manual dexterity for operating machinery and tools.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and safety-conscious.
- Teamwork-oriented with basic written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand a tape measure.
