About the role

Applies sandblast to sample panels for customer approval and performs light, medium, or heavy sandblasting on precast concrete members after sample approval.

Responsibilities

• Apply sandblast to sample panel as directed by Supervisor.
• Use various chemicals and materials such as sand, acid wash, and/or sealers in the sandblast process.
• Consult with Supervisor, Plant Manager, Sales Staff, etc. to match sandblasted panel to customer’s requirements.
• Apply light, medium, or heavy sandblast to flat panels, spandrels, columns, etc. and match sandblast to customer’s requirements and expectations.
• Apply dry finish to concrete members during periods of inclement weather or when sandblasting is not scheduled.
• Wash retarder off members with exposed aggregate finish.
• Perform patching on architectural product.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
