Sand Blaster

Responsibilities

• Abrases surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive blasting equipment.
• May be required to perform additional tasks from fabrication to final assembly.
• Shovels or pours abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.
• Masks specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.
• Loads parts on racks, into barrels or into cabinets.
• Examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
• May assist painter, repair and lubricate machines and/or equipment.
• May perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled workers.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret manufacturers and engineers instructions.
• Acceptable driving record required according to company guidelines.

Physical Demand

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Working Conditions

• Shop environment.

• Shift Time/Overtime: Monday – Friday , 7:30am - 4:00pm.
• Travel: Acceptable driving record required according to company guidelines.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
