About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter with a passion for customer service, product knowledge, and selling to join our team as a Salesperson at Legacy Chevrolet. The ideal candidate is extremely knowledgeable about our vehicles and services, the automotive industry, and our market, including vehicle selection, performance, accessories, efficiencies, safety features, and financing options for both new and used inventories. You will present vehicles to customers in an attractive and highly informative manner to promote prompt sales while maintaining ongoing relationships to encourage networking and repeat business.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate automobiles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features; taking test drives; comparing and contrasting competitive models; and explaining warranties and services.
  • Assist customers with vehicle selection and promote model options, features, value-add products, and financing options following dealership policies.
  • Conduct vehicle test drives while adhering to all speed limits and road rules.
  • Continuously learn about product updates, features, accessories, and inventory to highlight their benefits to customers.
  • Facilitate vehicle delivery by providing clear explanations of vehicle operation, warranty, and servicing requirements.
  • Overcome objections, ask for the sale, negotiate price, complete sales agreements, and explain warranties, services, and financing options.
  • Maintain accurate sales documentation and a high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI).
  • Use an owner follow-up system to encourage repeat and referral business, contributing to customer satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date on all vehicles, accessories, financing options, and promotions.
  • Negotiate sales closures in a clear, concise, and highly ethical manner.
  • Prospect daily for potential customers and maintain rapport with previously sold customers.
  • Provide sales management information by completing required reports.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and vendors.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction to build and maintain business.
  • Set personal goals aligned with dealership standards and devise strategies to meet them.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of automotive sales experience preferred, but willing to train.
  • Previous sales or customer service experience (any industry) is a plus.
  • Able to achieve goals with limited direct supervision and multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including maintaining composure under stress.
  • Strong telephone and in-person customer service skills, including a positive demeanor.
  • Ability to develop relationships with vendors and work well in a process-driven environment.
  • Professional appearance, work ethic, and conduct at all times.
  • Self-starter and self-motivator with confidence in your ability to succeed.
  • Commitment to respecting and facilitating teamwork across all departments.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • General Motors experience is a plus.
