Salesforce Developer
Job Summary
We are seeking a Salesforce Developer to assist the Information Technology (IT) team's Salesforce group. The IT team develops, supports, and enhances the Salesforce platform across multiple Salesforce organizations operating globally across four continents. The Developer leads complex development efforts, including advanced Apex design, scalable integrations, Lightning Web Component (LWC) architecture, performance optimization, and refactoring, while setting standards, mentoring teammates, and influencing solution designs in partnership with Architects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex Salesforce solutions using Apex (including async patterns, platform events, and invocables), LWC (composition, state management, custom events), Declarative tools as Flows, and enterprise-grade integrations.
- Optimize performance and refactor legacy components and implement secure, scalable designs for high volume use cases.
- Lead code reviews, establish engineering standards, and mentor other developers and administrators to uplift the team's overall capability.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve high impact Level 4 issues, guiding junior team members and ensuring quality and stability in production.
- Contribute to solution designs, conduct option analyses (buy v. build), prototype conceptions, and support architectural decisions (without acting as the final architect).
- Recommend and balance declarative v. programming approaches, ensuring the right tool is applied to each business problem.
- Partner with Administrators, Business Analysts, and Architects to maintain governance adherence to guardrails and strong compliance practices (naming conventions, testing standards, documentation).
- Lead triage and root cause investigations and define and implement preventive improvements to strengthen platform reliability.
- Provide technical leadership during release planning, automated testing strategy, environment management, and deployment validation.
- Produce high quality technical documents including Entity Relationship Diagrams, sequence diagrams, integration maps, runbooks, and release notes.
Required Skills
- Ability to optimize performance, enhance security, and reduce technical debt at scale.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices (version control, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, code quality tools).
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- English proficiency required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
- Able to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Strong experience with Experience Cloud preferred.
- Additional Salesforce certifications preferred (beyond Salesforce Administrator and Platform Developer I).
- Knowledge of additional languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or German, preferred.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field required.
- Salesforce Administrator certification required.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification required.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of Salesforce development experience with demonstrated technical leadership on cross-functional initiatives required.
- Experience in Flows, Data modeling, Apex, LWC, platform limits, and integration patterns required.
