About the Opportunity

We are seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Community & Business Development Manager to help grow and strengthen a thriving membership organization serving retirees and active older adults.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new memberships through community outreach, networking, presentations, and relationship development

  • Build strategic partnerships with local organizations, chambers of commerce, retirement communities, and other community groups

  • Congduct presentations and educational sessions to prospective members

  • Create and manage campaigns to re-engage former members

  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of prospective members and referral sources

  • Own the membership sales process from initial contact through enrollment

  • Foster a welcoming and highly engaged membership community

  • Connect members with one another to encourage meaningful relationships and participation

  • Increase member involvement across programs, events, and activities

  • Serve as a visible and trusted representative of the organization

  • Coordinate and host social events, educational workshops, and member activities

  • Partner with subject matter experts to deliver valuable educational programming

  • Launch and support member interest groups, clubs, and special initiatives

  • Ensure events are well attended, professionally executed, and aligned with member interests

Qualifications

  • Proven success in sales, business development, membership growth, community building, or relationship-based client acquisition

  • Experience presenting to groups and representing an organization publicly

  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Comfortable using technology, social media, and modern business tools

  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently

  • Available to attend occasional evening events
