About the Role

We are excited to bring on a Sales Rookie for our Group Protection division. This position is part of our Group Protection Sales Development Program that starts in Summer 2026. The program will take place in one of our Sales offices, requiring you to be located or relocate to one of these office locations. This position will take place in the Charlotte, NC office. Sales Rookies must be willing to relocate upon completion of the Group Protection Sales Development Program, or anytime thereafter, to a different part of the country based upon the territories and opportunities at that point in time.

About the Program

The Group Protection Sales Development Program is approximately 6-9 months in duration to prepare eager, sales driven individuals for sales roles within our company. The goal is to accelerate the growth of associates within the program providing them with a robust training curriculum, mentorship, and a formal apprenticeship to take charge and further their career in sales at Lincoln Financial Group. At the end of the program, participants will be given their own sales territory within the Group Protection business which could require relocation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned territory and products, assessing impacts, and collaborating with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of Lincoln's products, services and operational structure to enhance your ability to identify and target sales growth opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain and execute basic sales plans to increase sales revenue & market share with assigned partners. In addition, you will begin to cultivate, manage and maintain basic relationships with internal and external parties, including brokers.
  • Learn Lincoln's products & services within their group protection portfolio while also learning how to evaluate and negotiate with internal stakeholders on proposals, specifically in underwriting. In addition, you will shadow with assigned Sales partners to learn how to achieve sales targets.
  • Provide education, information, training & advice on Lincoln's products & services (including sales support tools, marketing ideas, etc.)
  • Build and maintain business relationships through effective communication via email, phone and in person with internal/external stakeholders in a customer centric and professional demeanor.
  • Identify, recommend and champion process improvements and organizational initiatives to positively influence the team and quality.

Requirements

  • 2026 Graduating seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0; 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written).
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven time management skills with ability to prioritize workload and multi-task with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must be able to obtain Life & Health license throughout training program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Group insurance or sales experience.
  • Sales acumen.
  • Demonstrated leadership and work ethic experience through campus or community involvement.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $44,800 - $81,400 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
