Our client is a well-established global manufacturing company with a long-standing presence in North America and Asia, serving a wide range of industrial sectors. This position will focus on maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, identifying new business opportunities, and coordinating closely with international headquarters and internal teams.
About the role
Bilingual (Japanese/English) sales professional supporting business development and customer relationship management across the North American market. Hybrid work environment based in New York City with approximately 30–50% travel within North America.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across North America
- Communicate regularly with customers to understand their needs and propose solutions
- Prepare and deliver presentations introducing the company's products and services
- Support negotiations and manage commercial discussions with customers, distributors, and partners
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and market updates for management
- Coordinate with internal teams including technical, logistics, finance, and administrative departments
- Monitor customer activity and maintain accurate account records
- Conduct market research through customer visits, industry events, and trade shows
- Support visits from international headquarters and assist with coordination of meetings and business travel
Requirements
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience preferred
- Experience working with industrial customers or distribution networks is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree required
Skills
- Understanding of B2B commercial practices including pricing, contracts, negotiations, and procurement processes
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Fluent Japanese and English required; regular communication with international headquarters and global teams
