Responsibilities
- Develop new client relationships to increase volume of bid opportunities
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers
- Attend on-site and virtual bid meetings & walk-throughs
- Interpret bid documents, plans and specifications in order to prepare complete and explicit proposals to provide accurate and detailed scope of work and exclusions
- Process and complete Bid Forms, Bid Proposals and Bid Prequalification
- Research and determine the need for subcontractors and obtain competitive quotes
- Review bid documents, pricing, and proposals with department Sales Manager
- Master Oliver’s Estimating Programs
- Attend customer events, sales events and company functions as required
- Analyze competitor’s capabilities and approaches
- Investigate trends and fluctuations in the fire protection market
- Assist operations with the execution of projects as required
- Gain proficiency in customer relationship management software to produce and evaluate opportunities and track sales activity for the department
- Membership and active participation in industry related organizations
Requirements
- 5 year fire protection and/or sales experience preferred
- 4 year college degree preferred
- Mechanical aptitude is required
- PC skills; Microsoft Windows and Office
- Highly effective networking and relationship building skills
- Must be willing to travel locally/regionally
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Creative and innovative thinking and the ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams
- Work well in a team environment
- Superior communication, organizational and relationship building skills
- Strong personal desire to succeed
Qualifications
- Education: 4 year college degree preferred
- Experience: 5 year fire protection and/or sales experience preferred
- Skills: Mechanical aptitude, PC skills; Microsoft Windows and Office, Networking and relationship building skills, Driving license and clean record, Creative and innovative thinking, Teamwork, Communication, Organizational, Relationship building skills, Personal drive to succeed
