About the role

The Sales and Market Development Manager will grow Aurorium’s US and global customer base, reporting to the US Sales Manager and collaborating with Marketing Managers. This role focuses on accelerating Paper and Packaging market development and sales growth by executing market development and sales plans, communicating key value propositions, and developing new business based on deep market knowledge. Responsibilities include prospecting for new accounts, building relationships across customer organizations, leading cross-functional project teams, and identifying new markets and products.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a portfolio of Paper and Packaging manufacturers and brands globally, with a focus in the US.
  • Consistently delivers on monthly and quarterly AOP (Annual Operating Plan) targets for volume, revenue, and profitability.
  • Develops and executes strategic account plans for major customers, communicating Aurorium value propositions to drive new business.
  • Identifies growth areas for assigned product lines and works closely with customers to manage developmental projects from formulation to commercial launch.
  • Acts as a liaison between customers and Aurorium’s field marketing and technical support teams.
  • Builds and maintains a robust commercial pipeline, utilizing Salesforce CRM to advance sales opportunities and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Generates and manages monthly sales forecasts and territory/account-specific commercial-related contractual agreements.
  • Complies with company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, reporting incidents promptly and acting in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities, problem-solving, and mentoring of team members.
  • Exercises autonomy and judgment while contributing to the learning and development of self and the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a Life Science field (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience selling chemical specialties to large Paper and Packaging accounts.
  • Experience developing and executing sales plans to achieve growth goals.
  • Previous Key Account Management and/or New Business Development experience.
  • Experience managing complex sales within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Skills

  • Willingness to travel extensively (70%) throughout the US.
  • Strong prospecting and hunting skills for new accounts and growth opportunities.
  • Excellent sales negotiation and relationship-building skills with external and internal customers.
  • Ability to develop relationships at multiple levels and functions within an organization.
  • Proficiency in open-ended questioning to uncover customer needs.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) and formal presentation skills.
  • Proactive use of CRM systems (Salesforce) to advance sales and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bias for action, results-oriented, and ability to operate with limited supervision.
