The Sales Manager is a key role supporting a district, developing accounts, and leading Sales Representatives to increase profitability and exceed customer expectations. This position is ideal for a customer-focused, strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Sales Performance Management
- Meet or exceed annual sales and profit targets as established by company guidelines.
- Manage customer base to achieve targeted D & F percentage.
- Analyze and leverage competitors’ strengths and weaknesses.
- Monitor and enforce policies, procedures, and service standards to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Leadership and Team Development
- Provide training to the Sales Team as needed.
- Encourage and motivate team members to strive for higher achievement through consistent leadership, training, and coaching.
- Supervise and direct the sales team to ensure individual and department goals are met.
- Collaborate with Representatives to identify opportunities for generating new customers and expanding product lines within existing retail accounts.
- Customer Relationship Management
- Evaluate inactive accounts to identify opportunities for reassignment and growth.
- Conduct comprehensive customer business reviews to identify areas for improvement and increased sales.
- Ensure timely communication of enhancements to promotions, programs, policies, and procedures to team members.
- Provide support for related marketing programs to contribute to promotional success.
- Administration and Reporting
- Attend weekly meetings with the Accounts Receivable (A/R) team to analyze overdue accounts.
- Analyze daily sales reports to identify opportunities for improving margins or specific line-item sales.
- Report variances with corrective actions to the sales manager and sales supervisor once per period.
- Monitor, manage, and track sales, margins, expenses, and overall sales results for the branch.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support overall goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- Required:
- Minimum of three years in the food industry.
- Minimum of three years of experience directly managing a sales team.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
- Preferred:
- Experience leading a specialty meat and seafood sales force.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
- Data Analysis - Cube Reporting.
- Bilingual.

- Physical Requirements
- Ability to maintain a stationary position 80% of the time, with intermittent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and/or crawling.
- Ability to move and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds across various locations.
- Capable of occasional travel as required by duties.
- Capable of operating office productivity machinery (computer, calculator, copy machine, printer).
- Capable of frequently communicating with team members and stakeholders.
- Capable of perceiving visuals for activities such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, and reading.
