About the role
Join our Field Sales team as a Sales Manager. This role involves developing strong relationships with major home center retail partners like The Home Depot and Lowe’s, increasing in-store presence of ScottsMiracle-Gro brands, and managing a team of Merchandisers.
Responsibilities
- Utilize strategic selling tactics to educate retail partners on business opportunities
- Effectively advise customers through metric updates and business reviews
- Manage and direct the work of Merchandisers, including planning, scheduling, and delegating tasks
- Coach and develop career paths for each associate on your team
- Provide job training and communicate product knowledge across the portfolio of Scotts brands
- Develop retail sales/marketing plans and other creative marketing tools and events
- Assist retailers in the proper merchandising of Scotts’ product lines, including the use of point-of-purchase materials
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 years experience in retail, merchandising, and/or account management
- Experience using sales forecasting tools
- The ability to guide and mentor Merchandisers
- A problem-solving and service-oriented attitude
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends
- Current, valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Routine walking, standing, climbing an 8-12 foot ladder, lifting up to 45 lbs, and exposure to weather elements (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain)
Qualifications

Pay
The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $59,700.00 - $70,200.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
