Sales Manager, Cocoa
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Sales, NA Cocoa, the Sales Manager will develop and implement account strategies to provide business growth across assigned accounts, including coverage of Western United States accounts and a significant focus on accelerating growth in Mexico. The Sales Manager will engage with cross-functional teams across ofi to ensure successful execution of business plans and customer needs are met.
The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work effectively in a team, as well as individually to promote and grow the business. They should be able to successfully analyze sales data and then implement those learnings into a sales strategy. The candidate should be outgoing and a strong communicator, able to collaborate and think creatively about new solutions and opportunities. Ability to manage multiple competing demands in a complex and ever-evolving environment will be required. The successful candidate should have a passion for the food supply chain and deliver excellent customer service. This position should ideally be located in Arizona, California, Nevada, or New Mexico.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities, which include prospecting, cold calling and qualifying new leads, meeting existing and new potential customers, and making sales presentations to potential and existing customers.
- Create, develop, and execute account strategies, plans, and forecasts for assigned accounts and customers.
- Develop and implement the strategies for acquiring new projects within the account and increase market share.
- Manage and grow assigned account base across the Western United States, building strong customer relationships and identifying opportunities to expand ofi’s presence in the region.
- Drive Mexico growth strategy by developing targeted account plans, identifying new business opportunities, and partnering with internal teams to support market expansion and profitable growth.
- Achieve or exceed annual sales goals and targets.
- Engage the ofi network (e.g., cross-functional team members/critical functional resources) to execute business plans, resolve issues, and deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer needs and drive profitable growth.
- Plan and present reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members, stakeholders, and for possible use in future case studies or company training.
- Manage contracts and receivables for account base.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required; preferred majors in Business, Management, or related studies.
- Five (5) years of previous sales, business development or brand management experience is required.
- Experience in food industry and/or food service is preferred.
- Experience managing relationships with customers and internal stakeholders is required.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to build trusted relationships across all levels, both internal and external, is required.
- Strong self-initiative with an ability to operate at a high level with minimum supervision is required.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook is required.
- Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings for travel or fulfillment of position responsibilities.
- State issued driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
- Bilingual, English/Spanish is required.
- Willingness and ability to travel a minimum of 20% of the time is required.
- For remote employees, commitment to spend at least five days per month in the assigned office, in addition to regular travel obligations.
Pay
The pay for this role ranges from $93,000-$130,000 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or other determining factors.
