Responsibilities
- Generate new business by conducting strategic sales calls, external client visits, and presentations to potential clients.
- Manage special event inquiries, negotiate event space, assist with development of catering menus, prepare event proposals and conduct site inspections.
- Represent the Company in communicating with prospective clients, event planners, and vendors.
- Cookordination availability and place holds, conduct site visits, prepare budget estimates, and communicate venue policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive cold calling, and successfully negotiate and close contracts.
- Identify, cultivate, and evaluate potential business opportunities from existing corporate and entertainment clients.
- Monitor trends in the local sales/special events market. Develop strategies to improve and adapt to evolving conditions.
- Ensure all invoices and paperwork are submitted to Accounting department accurately and within established deadlines.
- Oversee the collection of all payments prior to each event.
- Maintain procedural documentation to meet all internal accounting, audit and financial controls.
- Participate in weekly meetings with operations management to review upcoming events.
- Attend pre-shift briefings with staff on event nights to ensure operational readiness.
- Aid in developing and enhancing catering and banquet menus that promote upselling opportunities based on dynamic pricing opportunities.
- Submit monthly reports, including PACE, Monthly Sales Plan, site visits, and cross-sell opportunities.
- Responsible for financial aspects of promoting and selling venue and achieving overall financial sales goals/targets.
- Provide updates on strategies and financials at monthly operating reviews.
- Ensure events are accurately scheduled in event management system to prevent conflicts with other departments and to identify and maximize booking opportunities.
- Communicate and uphold all corporate standards, guidelines, policies and procedures in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Maintain personal integrity by abiding by and supporting the values and principles of the company.
- Follow and support brand SOPs.
- Participate and respond to the annual company audits.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in business-related field preferred or equivalent additional experience required.
- Experience: 4+ years' experience in event and catering sales preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; Strategic decision-making, planning and organization skills; Sales ability and persuasiveness.
- Licenses / Certifications: Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record required.
