About the Role
The Sales Lead supports Management in promoting a customer and product-focused sales culture, where our values and guiding principles drive store operations, including exceptional customer experience and maximum profitability.
Responsibilities
- Establish and communicate clear expectations, holding the store team and self accountable for brand, performance, and behavior standards.
- Perform and oversee basic operational activities such as opening/closing duties and merchandise flow processes.
- Supervise associates engaged in sales, inventory receipt, reconciling cash receipts, and customer services.
- Utilize weekly schedules to ensure proper floor coverage within fiscal guidelines.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions; present and display merchandise according to standards.
- Uphold standards in merchandise handling, presentation, loss prevention, and other duties as directed by Management.
- Develop a high-performance culture, motivating the sales team to meet assigned sales and productivity goals; meet personal sales goals.
- Train and coach the selling team on all aspects of product knowledge, both online and in-store.
- Assist with locate fulfillment and selling.
- Motivate and inspire the store team, promoting a shared vision and modeling core values.
- Promote an inclusive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Communicate effectively with store teams and Management to lead positive change.
- Seek personal developmental opportunities and solicit feedback to build leadership skills.
- Model, teach, and promote the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) principles and standards for a cohesive omnichannel experience.
- Utilize various sales techniques and product knowledge to assist customers; recommend merchandise based on customer needs.
- Build and maintain a solid customer following through clienteling and wardrobing.
- Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns.
- Maintain a fast and efficient register experience, staying current on policies regarding payments, coupons, returns, exchanges, and security practices.
- Ensure the team maintains consistent client communication through customer books, rewards programs, and customer capture sign-ups.
- Support, implement, and follow up on all training programs, seminars, etc.
- Assist in the development of store associates; interpret Key Performance Indicator reports and deliver coaching as needed.
- Provide feedback to the Store Manager for associate performance appraisals and evaluations.
- Drive associate and team engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
- Ensure the store team adheres to all employment practices and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Some duties may vary by brand.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of retail or sales management experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
- Able to learn or adapt to technology provided by the company.
- Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to communicate effectively with customers.
- Regular attendance is essential to ensure adequate coverage.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Constant walking/standing: 67-100% of an 8-hour shift.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.: 1-33% of an 8-hour shift.
- Frequent climbing: 34-66% of an 8-hour shift.
