Our ethos is simple: to help businesses thrive so they can support their communities and drive economic progress.
About the role
Our Graduate Sales Excellence Program is designed for graduates who are ambitious, commercially curious, and passionate about building relationships and driving business growth. You will experience core areas of our sales organization, developing a rounded understanding of the full customer lifecycle from first contact to long-term partnership. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office.
During the graduate program, you may work in two or more of the following teams:
- CS Foundation: Build an understanding of how customers adopt Sage products, realize value, and make decisions about renewal or growth. By the end of this rotation, you will:
- Use customer health, adoption, usage, and engagement data to identify churn risks, value opportunities, and expansion signals.
- Build clear value stories that connect Sage capability to customer outcomes, including time saved, risk reduced, and efficiency gained.
- Support renewal readiness by maintaining accurate CRM data, updating customer status, and contributing structured recommendations.
- Run adoption and value check-ins with growing independence, coordinating with Product, Support, or Services to resolve blockers.
- Produce a concise Customer Success case example showing how your work protected revenue, improved adoption, or created expansion readiness.
- Sales Development: Identify, qualify, and engage potential customers, learning how to prospect effectively, handle objections confidently, and hand over warm opportunities to the wider sales team. This rotation builds resilience, curiosity, and the ability to communicate value quickly and clearly.
- Retention and Renewal: Work closely with existing customers to ensure they continue to see value in Sage’s solutions and renew their contracts. Develop skills in account management, negotiation, and proactive relationship building, turning renewal conversations into growth opportunities.
- New Customer Acquisition: Win net-new business by taking prospects through the full sales cycle from first conversation to signed contract. Learn how to run structured discovery conversations, build compelling business cases, present solutions to decision-makers, and close deals.
- Channel and Partner Sales: Support Sage’s network of channel partners and resellers, helping them sell Sage solutions more effectively. Develop a strategic perspective on sales, learning how to enable others, manage indirect relationships, and think about market reach and commercial impact at scale.
