Sales Engineer (NYC)
Responsibilities
- Own Technical Strategy for Revenue-Critical Deals
- Serve as the technical leader in complex, high-value sales cycles, shaping the solution vision from discovery through proof-of-value and executive validation.
- Partner closely with Account Executives to align technical architecture with business impact, proactively remove risk, and position Faros as the strategic choice that wins competitive deals.
- Anchoring discussions in a broader industry context - leveraging Gartner frameworks, market narratives, and category evolution to influence executive stakeholders and differentiate Faros beyond point solutions.
- Field Intelligence, Industry Insight & Market Influence
- Act as the structured voice of the field by capturing recurring objections, buyer friction, and competitive dynamics, and translating them into actionable insight for Product and GTM leadership.
- Synthesize frontline experience with external research (e.g., Gartner trends, AI adoption curves, DevOps and engineering intelligence market shifts) to refine positioning, improve demo strategy, and influence roadmap priorities that directly increase win rates and revenue velocity.
Qualifications
Technical Credibility: Proven track record of success in technical roles, with a deep understanding of engineering intelligence, developer productivity, and AI-enabled software delivery.
Market Context: Deep knowledge of the market landscape, including Gartner frameworks, AI adoption curves, and DevOps and engineering intelligence market shifts.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically about technical solutions and their impact on business outcomes.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues, and to anticipate and mitigate risks in technical sales cycles.
Industry Expertise: Familiarity with the software development and engineering intelligence markets, and a strong understanding of how these markets are evolving.
Leadership: Experience leading technical teams or projects, and the ability to mentor and develop others.
