Responsibilities
- Prospect and develop net-new commercial accounts across the Chicago market, with a focus on Fortune 100 and mid-market organizations.
- Manage and grow existing commercial client relationships, identifying opportunities to expand wallet share across SDI's managed services, IT consulting, and cloud offerings.
- Partner closely with SDI's Xchange team to introduce and place apprentices at new commercial accounts, supporting clients' talent development and workforce needs.
- Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at target accounts to uncover business challenges and align SDI solutions.
- Manage full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution, working collaboratively with solutions architects and delivery teams.
- Develop and maintain an active pipeline; provide accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting to sales leadership.
- Represent SDI at Chicago-area industry events, networking forums, and partner engagements to build brand presence in the commercial market.
- Collaborate with marketing and practice leads to develop account-specific pursuit strategies and proposals.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in a sales, business development, or technical presales role, preferably within IT services, managed services, consulting, or technology solutions.
- Familiarity with the Chicago commercial market — including Fortune 100 and/or mid-market accounts — with an existing or developing professional network in the region.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a sales pipeline, qualify opportunities, and advance deals through a structured sales process.
- Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to understand client business needs and connect them to SDI's capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior-level stakeholders.
- Self-starter with high energy, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative mindset.
- Able to work on-site in Chicago and engage regularly with clients in-person.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
Skills
- Experience or exposure to workforce development, apprenticeship programs, or talent placement solutions.
- Familiarity with IT managed services, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), ServiceNow, or related technology offerings.
- Experience working within or selling to commercial verticals such as financial services, real estate, professional services, or healthcare.
