About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious sales professional responsible for proactive and reactive sales efforts through tele-prospecting and direct sales. You will drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Able to work a flexible schedule, be reliable, and adhere to start times.
- Wear proper attire and a nametag while on shift; maintain a professional personal appearance.
- Complete all required company and brand-specific training and/or certifications in a timely manner.
- Acknowledge guests in public areas with warm, friendly greetings using the 5/10 rule.
- Stay knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, including reviewing event sheets, bulletin boards, and Pass It On logs for updates.
- Execute exemplary customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty by assisting customers before their arrival.
- Ensure timely responses to clients for all bookings, with a maximum of 24 hours for all responses.
- Proactively identify, qualify, and solicit new business opportunities through account penetration and market saturation.
- Prospect and qualify lead sources via cold calls, tele-prospecting, and networking to generate new opportunities.
- Maintain monthly activity goals and revenue quotas.
- Conduct site visits, hotel tours, and inspections for potential customers.
- Secure the best sales opportunities based on market conditions and hotel needs, establishing long-term relationships and commitments.
- Use available tools to understand competitors' strengths and weaknesses and leverage this knowledge in sales efforts.
- Develop relationships within the community to expand the customer base.
- Foster a spirit of sales throughout the hotel team by providing training and support on client processes and requirements.
- Maintain records of third-party client contracts, ensuring timely renewals and rate negotiations.
- Collaborate with departments to resolve guest relation issues and minimize billing/service errors by educating the team on client-specific needs.
- Create customer correspondence, including sales agreements, proposals, and thank-you letters.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following safety and security protocols.
- Handle all duties according to hotel policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous sales experience required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Able to organize, plan ahead, and manage workload.
- Team player who can also work independently.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands
- Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Able to bend, reach, kneel, pivot, and grip items while performing tasks.
- Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and complete multiple assignments despite interruptions.
- Must be able to travel from the employer’s site to customer sites; requires the physical ability to drive an automobile.
