Sales Consultant III - National Accounts and Public Sector (Remote)

About the Role

This position is responsible for new business development within the National Accounts and Public Sector space. The role leads sales initiatives and strategies, relationship building with external partners and prospects, and collaboration with internal constituents. It requires a deep understanding of selling to self-insured customers with complex benefit arrangements, as well as experience presenting to C-suite prospects and large consultant practices.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals and profitable growth for the organization.
  • Position and sell multiple lines of coverage, including medical, stop loss, dental, and vision.
  • Strategize on proposals to meet client objectives and deliver the company’s value proposition.
  • Be proactive, organized, responsive, and detail-oriented; track all sales data within Salesforce and other required platforms.
  • Develop long-term relationships with both internal and external constituents.
  • Strategize and organize a team of subject matter experts for finalist meetings.
  • Continuously meet with consultant partners and keep them informed on new products, updates, and relevant business information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Insurance Industry, or a related field OR in lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Current health and life insurance license for Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
  • 8 years of sales/healthcare experience in a similar sales position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar sales position with a competitor or in a related industry.

Skills

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve for prospects' challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines for proposals and collaborate closely with internal teams.

Travel

This position requires up to 80% travel to meet with consultants and prospective clients within the DC metro area.

Pay

Salary range: $95,200 – $154,700. The disclosed range considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market conditions. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range.
