About the role

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and assist with merchandise selection.
• React quickly to customer concerns with a sense of importance.
• Manage the sale department, order merchandise, and ensure stock levels are monitored.
• Communicate with HQ staff for special order requests and merchandise issues.
• Train employees on cash register duties and provide input on their evaluations.
• Operate a cash register, accept various forms of payment, and manage cash transactions.
• Prepare, verify, and issue change funds; reconcile register tapes and investigate discrepancies.
• Control and secure the change fund, safe, and cash registers; follow store policies.
• Directly supervise employees during store openings and closings.
• Follow all policies regarding loss prevention and be proactive about shrinkage.
• Comply with safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
• Work weekends as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior retail experience in inventory control and retail sales.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Experience operating a cash register and working knowledge of sales inventory.
• Previous retail supervisory experience in the performance of the above duties.
• Current USCG NAF sales clerk with at least 6 months experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include prior retail experience, ability to lift and stand, and previous supervisory experience.
• Preferred qualifications include experience operating a cash register, working knowledge of sales inventory, and previous retail supervisory experience.

Pay

$16.80 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time (30-40 hours per week).
