The Role
The Sales Engineer will drive new business and support existing accounts by managing the full sales cycle for building automation projects. The role focuses on plan-and-spec, design-build, and direct owner opportunities, translating technical requirements into competitive controls solutions while partnering closely with operations to ensure successful execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain customer relationships
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and pricing from plans and specifications
- Manage opportunities from pursuit through project handoff
- Track project scope, schedule, and cost changes
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and CRM documentation
- Present BAS software demonstrations and service offerings
- Support margin management and post-project follow-up
Qualifications
- Strong communication, organization, and negotiation skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Experience in HVAC controls or building automation preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience a plus
