Sales Assistant/Business Development

About the role
The Business Development Sales Assistant is responsible for supporting the Senior Managing Director of Business Development in all efforts related to lead generation, sales, client service, strategic planning, and practice development. The position will consist of performing comprehensive research, maintaining databases, drafting client communications, tracking opportunities, jobs and contacts, assisting in the planning and coordination of client events, supporting firm’s sales and marketing initiatives and assisting with all other administrative duties as needed. The Sales Assistant will report directly to a senior team member in the Los Angeles office but will interact others firm-wide. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Drafting, editing, proofreading, and assembling materials/e-mails for prospective clients
- Conducting and synthesizing research on clients, competitors, and industry (includes performing Internet and periodical research on current litigation such as identifying prospective business opportunities, locating case dockets, obtaining and reviewing complaints, researching clients, locating company financial filings, etc.)
- Tracking litigation news and identifying opportunities
- Developing effective client communications
- Supporting internal and external meeting preparation and follow-up
- Maintenance of Client Relationship Management (CRM) database
- Day-to-day administrative duties, including expense report compilation, reservation and travel plan arrangements, team and client meeting arrangements
- Support on team events/sponsorships, direct marketing, website, advertising, and public relations
- Customer service interaction with potential clients
- Developing understanding of company’s offerings, existing materials and individual expert capabilities
Requirements
- 4-5 years related experience; (consulting or law firm experience a major plus)
- Strong knowledge of AI tools, MS Office, Lexis+, Lex Machina, Westlaw, SharePoint, PACER and on-line research tools such as LexisNexis, Courtlink; Knowledge of Salesforce CRM a plus; InterAction, iManage, DealCloud, Bloomberg Law, Law360, Adobe Acrobat, Hoovers, S&P Capital IQ, Docket Navigator, PitchBook, Foundation, Nexl
- Strong research skills with ability to summarize important details of assignments
- Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills; extremely detail-oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage changing project criteria, and multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure
