About the role
This role involves preparing commercial proposals and technical specifications for solar power photovoltaic (PV) repower projects. The candidate will also create relationships with clients and vendors to define integrated solutions and build a pipeline of potential business.
Responsibilities
- Research competitors' product offerings and assess client situations to design and develop competitive options
- Evaluate technical solutions to meet requirements for client repower applications
- Create electrical and mechanical design specifications for upgrading existing PV systems
- Develop hardware solutions to meet project requirements in collaboration with clients and OEMs
- Prepare commercial proposals and technical specifications to meet clients' RFQ requirements
- Lead technical and commercial proposal development for projects with limited supervision
- Communicate project requirements to clients and internal engineering team
- Develop detailed cost elements for technical specifications
- Evaluate supplier proposals to determine the best technical and most economical solution
- Identify enhanced product or service feature needs and provide feedback to management
- Monitor industry trends to recommend new product and service features
- Prepare and deliver presentations at technical conferences and meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics engineering or equivalent education and/or work experience
- 5 years' systems or application engineering experience in the PV industry or related industry power systems experience
- Demonstrated experience with codes and standards related to the application and installation of utility-scale PV inverter systems
- Demonstrated success as a contributing member in project teams
- Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
- Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, CREO, or other 3D modeling software
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD
