Responsibilities

  • Work on multiple complex tax engagements
  • Contribute to the delivery of innovative sales and use tax planning ideas for diverse clients
  • Manage and mentor a team of sales and use tax professionals
  • Lead projects and teams in complex Indirect tax audits, managed audits, and recovery of tax overpayments (reverse audits)
  • Prepare complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries
  • Identify and analyze complex tax issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA, CMI, or JD
  • 5+ years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting firm, tax services firm, or similar industry
  • Experience with a focus on indirect (sales & use) tax compliance and consulting

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff
  • Strong relationship management and practice development skills
  • Proven ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in tax software and tools

A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $175,000 in the California and New York Metropolitan areas. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location. In addition to compensation packages, Weaver offers competitive health benefits, such as medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan. Further, we support our employees by offering flexible scheduled time off (STO), minimum of 56 hours of sick and safe leave, 11 holidays, and 2 scheduled recharge days!

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $175,000 in the California and New York Metropolitan areas. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location.
