Sales and Use Tax Manager

The Sales and Use Tax Manager position within our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice offers a warm, successful, and team-driven environment with ample opportunities for career development and advancement.
Responsibilities
- Work on multiple complex tax engagements
- Contribute to the delivery of innovative sales and use tax planning ideas for diverse clients
- Manage and mentor a team of sales and use tax professionals
- Lead projects and teams in complex Indirect tax audits, managed audits, and recovery of tax overpayments (reverse audits)
- Prepare complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries
- Provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA, CMI, or JD
- 5+ years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting firm, tax services firm, or similar industry
- Experience with a focus on indirect (sales & use) tax compliance and consulting
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)
- Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff
- Strong relationship management and practice development skills
- Prioritize attracting and servicing new clients and expanding services to existing clients
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in tax software and tools
Benefits
At Weaver, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position being $120,000 to $175,000 in the California and New York Metropolitan areas. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location.
