Sales and Service Drain Specialist

BoomZeal Enterprises · Farmingdale, NY · 1 mo ago
Business Development$30–$40/hrFull-time

Since 2019, our independently owned & operated Long Island, NY organization has provided valuable plumbing and restoration services to local homeowners, businesses, and property managers. We are fully licensed as Home Improvement Contractors in Nassau, Suffolk, and NYC, serving both residential and commercial clients.

About the Role

This is a Drain Technician role with our residential/commercial plumbing team, focused on drain and sewer line service from first call to final walkthrough. You’ll take ownership of every drain job—from diagnosis to completion—using tools like camera inspections, hydro-jetting, and snaking to get it right, not just check a box.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service calls for clogged, slow, or backed-up drains and sewer lines.
  • Use cameras and locators to accurately diagnose root causes (roots, collapse, grease, bellies, etc.).
  • Perform snaking, hydro-jetting, and drain clearing using proper equipment for the job.
  • Identify when a repair (vs. a clear) is needed and clearly communicate that to the client.
  • Explain findings, options, and pricing in plain language before starting work.
  • Provide honest and lasting recommendations—no upselling for the sake of it.
  • Leave the work area clean and the client confident in the work performed.
  • Document diagnostics, camera footage, job notes, and proposals accurately in the CRM system.
  • Complete invoices, photos, and paperwork same-day.
  • Communicate follow-up needs to dispatch or supervisors (parts, permits, callbacks, etc.).
  • Maintain truck stock, tools, and equipment in good working order.
  • Report equipment issues before they become bigger problems.
  • Follow safety protocols on every job site.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in drain cleaning, sewer line service, and general plumbing (drain-specific experience preferred).
  • Comfortable operating cameras, locators, snakes, and jetters.
  • Strong communication skills—able to explain technical issues to non-technical clients.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Physically able to perform the work (crawl spaces, lifting equipment, outdoor conditions).
  • Dependable, punctual, and takes pride in a job done right the first time.

What Success Looks Like

  • Drain and sewer issues are correctly diagnosed and resolved without unnecessary return visits.
  • Clients feel informed and confident in the work performed.
  • Job documentation and invoicing are complete and accurate same-day.
  • Equipment is well-maintained and issues are flagged before they cause downtime.
  • Leadership can send you to any job knowing it’ll be handled right on the first visit.
