We are looking for a motivated and experienced Technical Account Manager to join our Pharmaceutical Ingredients team!

Responsibilities

  • Improve Univar’s position within each account using consultative and in-depth selling at all levels within the account.
  • Possess a proven competitive drive and strong business savvy, including an understanding of the business relationship between manufacturers, distributors, and end-users of chemicals.
  • Prospect for new business by conducting sales calls to grow the size of the territory actively.
  • Focus on customer retention and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Provide customer technical support and consultant services to increase our overall value to the customer.
  • Maintain a clear updated view of your sales pipeline.
  • Set pricing and service levels, as well as maintain and coordinate customer quotations or provide necessary information to allow local branches to do so.
  • Covered territory includes Long Island, Upstate New York and Conneticut. Preference for candidates located in Long Island, New York City or New Heaven, CT.
  • Coordinate with Local Sales, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure proper inventory levels.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety, both personal and of your colleagues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of sales experience in the Pharmaceutical Ingredients (raw chemicals) industry. (Experience with APIs and Excipients is valued)
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or chemical industry sales is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Technical Science, Chemistry preferred but not required).
  • Ability to nurture an extensive network of contacts.
  • Strong business savvy, including an understanding of the business relationship between manufacturers, distributors, and end-users of chemicals.
  • Well-honed listening skills and a problem-solving approach to uncover needs and motivations to overcome objections to closing a sale.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory.

Pay

The salary range for this position is USD $98,480- $140,770 USD. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s proven experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
