Sales Account Manager - Pharmaceutical Ingredients

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Technical Account Manager to join our Pharmaceutical Ingredients team!
Responsibilities
- Improve Univar’s position within each account using consultative and in-depth selling at all levels within the account.
- Possess a proven competitive drive and strong business savvy, including an understanding of the business relationship between manufacturers, distributors, and end-users of chemicals.
- Prospect for new business by conducting sales calls to grow the size of the territory actively.
- Focus on customer retention and overall customer satisfaction.
- Provide customer technical support and consultant services to increase our overall value to the customer.
- Maintain a clear updated view of your sales pipeline.
- Demonstrate commitment to safety, both personal and of your colleagues.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of sales experience in the Pharmaceutical Ingredients (raw chemicals) industry. (Experience with APIs and Excipients is valued)
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or chemical industry sales is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Technical Science, Chemistry preferred but not required).
- Ability to nurture an extensive network of contacts.
- Proven competitive drive.
- Strong business savvy, including an understanding of the business relationship between manufacturers, distributors, and end-users of chemicals.
- Well-honed listening skills and a problem-solving approach to uncover needs and motivations to overcome objections to closing a sale.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel within the assigned territory.

Pay and Benefits: The salary range for this position is USD $98,480- $140,770 USD. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s proven experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this role is eligible for incentive pay. Available employee benefits include health, vision, and dental. We also provide 401k matching for retirement and paid time off.
Where you'll work
This is a home-based opportunity — Covered territory includes Long Island, Upstate New York and Conneticut. Preference for candidates located in Long Island, New York City or New Heaven, CT.
