About the role

The Sales Account Manager drives and supports sales efforts in the Mid-Atlantic territory (ideal candidate resides in Philadelphia, PA) by implementing sales and marketing strategies for GenScript products and services. The role leverages scientific knowledge and business acumen to develop profitable initiatives and build sales.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Global Commercial Head to develop and implement territory sales strategies and tactics for products/services, new markets, and new applications.
  • Understand customer research applications and align GenScript services/products with their project requirements.
  • Share market knowledge with Sales, TAM, and Marketing teams through weekly field feedback reports.
  • Introduce GenScript to new markets (Industrial, Academic, Governmental).
  • Drive business expansion in collaboration with the technical support team (TAM) and FAS.
  • Build and expand a business reference network to grow new opportunities.
  • Spend 30% of time on quote/lead follow-up and account management, and 70% traveling for customer visits and relationship-building to meet sales goals.
  • Accurately forecast sales within the territory on a weekly basis.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or above in life sciences (or Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of lab experience).
  • 1–5 years of relevant sales experience with high technical and professional expertise.
  • Knowledge of the Biological and CRO/CDMO market or general biotech industry, with preference for experience in Gene Synthesis, Protein, Peptide, Bioassays, Antibody, and Cell Line Products/Services.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an international business environment.
  • Strong analytical, time management, and teamwork skills.

Pay

Base salary range: $80,000 – $100,000, dependent on experience.
